Removals Ireland Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Removals Ireland takes to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically and with integrity and to ensuring that the people who work for and with us are treated with dignity and respect.
Modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights. It can appear in various forms, including forced labour, servitude, bonded labour, child labour, and human trafficking. Removals Ireland recognises its responsibility to identify, prevent, and address risks of modern slavery wherever they may occur in connection with our activities.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Removals Ireland operates a clear and uncompromising zero-tolerance policy to modern slavery and human trafficking in all their forms. We do not knowingly engage with, support, or do business with any individual, organisation, or supplier that is involved in or complicit with modern slavery practices.
This zero-tolerance stance applies to all areas of our business, including our employees, contractors, subcontractors, agents, logistics partners, and any other third parties who provide goods or services to Removals Ireland. Any confirmed breach of this policy will result in decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We acknowledge that the nature of the removals and logistics sector can involve complex supply chains. To manage the associated risks, we apply due diligence procedures to assess the ethical standards and labour practices of those with whom we work.
As part of our supplier approval and ongoing performance monitoring processes, Removals Ireland conducts proportionate audits and assessments of suppliers. These may include requesting information on labour practices, working conditions, recruitment methods, and use of subcontractors. Where appropriate, we carry out site visits to review operations and verify compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
Suppliers are expected to confirm that they comply with all applicable labour and human rights legislation and that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour. We expect suppliers to cascade equivalent standards through their own supply chains. Where concerns are identified, we work collaboratively with suppliers to address issues; however, we reserve the right to suspend or cease relationships where necessary.
Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels
Removals Ireland is committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce. Managers and relevant staff receive guidance on recognising indicators of exploitation, such as signs of coercion, restriction of movement, withholding of documents, or unreasonable recruitment fees.
We encourage a culture where concerns can be raised without fear of retaliation. Employees, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any suspicion of modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our operations or supply chain. Reports can be made through internal reporting lines, directly to management, or to designated points of contact within the business.
All reports will be treated seriously and handled sensitively. Where an issue is raised, we will investigate promptly and, where appropriate, involve external authorities. We are committed to protecting those who report concerns in good faith from detrimental treatment.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Removals Ireland understands that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility requiring continuous improvement. We regularly review our policies, processes, and supplier management practices to strengthen our approach and respond to emerging risks.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by our leadership to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and aligned with best practice and legal requirements. As part of this review, we consider feedback from employees, audit findings, supplier performance, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year.
Where the review process identifies opportunities for enhancement, we will update our procedures, deliver additional training, and, where required, refine our supplier selection and monitoring criteria. Through these efforts, Removals Ireland aims to maintain robust safeguards against modern slavery and uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct throughout our business and supply chains.
